WE ARE ON YOUR SIDE
Protect Military Votes is a project of the American Constitutional Rights Union designed to encourage military voting and ensure all votes cast by members of the United States military and their family members are counted—and honored.
The mission of Protect Military Votes, a project of American Constitutional Rights Union, is to protect the votes of those protecting us.
There have been numerous cases of military ballots mishandled by local election officials, and we believe these votes should be honored with the highest level of efficiency and integrity.
The goal of Protect Military Votes is to:
The Federal Voting Assistance Program reports that 22% of active-duty military personnel wished to vote but experienced barriers to voting.
About three-quarters of the 1.3 million active-duty military members are eligible to vote absentee with special protections because they’re stationed away from their voting residence.
As former members of the U.S. military who have proudly served our nation, we express our support for Constitutional freedom and liberty. We also pledge to continue to fight to protect the integrity of our most cherished civil right — free and fair elections.
The mission of Protect Military Votes, a project of American Constitutional Rights Union, is to protect the votes of those protecting us. Visit the Committee to Support and Defend — the nation’s only constitutional conservative military and veterans support organization to learn more.
WHY WE FIGHT
When a citizen leaves home and family to risk all fighting for our freedoms, they shouldn’t have to worry about whether their vote will be counted. The shocking reality is that our service members abroad face obstacles that hinder their basic right to vote. From difficulty getting absentee ballots, to processes that bring into question whether their vote will even be counted, our military personnel struggle to do what we at home take for granted.
“Nowhere is the right to vote more sacred than when it resides in the hands of America’s warfighters. It is the responsibility of all citizens and government officials to ensure every military ballot is sent and received and each military vote properly counted. As the men and women of the U.S. military protect us here and abroad, we must protect their voices in the political process.”
Hon. Kenneth Blackwell, Former Secretary of State (Ohio), ACRU Action Board of Directors
“I have fought to defend our great Republic on the battlefield alongside great patriots. Now it is time for us to defend the fundamental rights of all soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines to cast their votes for those who would lead our nation. We must ensure that local election officials give every member of the military the opportunity to vote in a timely manner, in accordance with federal laws. We must protect military votes.”
LTC Allen B. West (US Army, Retired), Member, 112th US Congress
“I recognize that getting the ballots out on time requires a special effort by the Local Election Official (LEO). I submit that this is a small accommodation to make to facilitate the enfranchisement of the brave young men and women who are away from home and prepared to lay down their lives in defense of our country. Were it not for the sacrifices of military personnel, from the American Revolution to the Global War on Terrorism, none of us would have the opportunity to vote in free elections.”
Samuel F. Wright, Captain, JAGC, USN (Ret.)

Von Spakovsky: Another Study Refutes Left’s False Claims Against Secure Elections
Trust the science, we’ve all been told. Well, the science has spoken again: Voter ID laws aren’t discriminatory and don’t suppress anyone’s vote.
Von Spakovsky: Georgia Voters Show Just How Wrong Biden and His Sycophants Are
Here is the question: When will President Joe Biden, failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, Major League Baseball Commissioner Robert Manfred, and other denizens of the Left apologize to Georgia’s legislators, governor, and other residents? The answer is probably “Never,” despite the latest evidence of just how wrong they’ve been about Georgia’s commonsense election reforms in their outrageous claims about the state.
Von Spakovsky: Apportionment and the Census: Fundamental Fairness to U.S. Citizens and Democratic Process
Americans just voted for their representatives in the House of Representatives in the 2022 midterm election, and two years ago, they completed census forms. Both of those activities are the direct result of Article I, Section 2, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution—the census clause—which directs that an “actual Enumeration” be conducted every “ten Years” of our population “in such Manner as [Congress] shall by Law direct.”
Von Spakovsky: Election Fraud Database Tops 1,400 Cases
The Heritage Foundation’s Election Fraud Database now includes 1,412 proven instances of election fraud, and our legal center is monitoring many other ongoing prosecutions. The database, which provides a sampling of recent election fraud cases, demonstrates the vulnerabilities within the electoral process and the need for reforms to secure free and fair elections for the American people.

The head of the NAACP in New York slammed the new ranked-choice voting system as “voter suppression” while calling for an overhaul of the bumbling New York City Board of Elections.“Ranked choice voting is not beneficial to minorities. As state legislatures begin their 2023 sessions, Americans should know what their states did in 2022 to improve or damage the integrity of the election process.
Von Spakovsky: Rank “Ranked Choice Voting” Dead Last for Georgia
Alaska and Maine have implemented “ranked choice voting,” a confusing, chaotic method of voting. Georgia should not follow suit. “Ranked choice” really should be referred to as “rigged choice,” since it effectively disenfranchises voters and allows marginal candidates not supported by a majority of voters to win elections.
Von Spakovsky: Numbers Don’t Lie: America’s Border Crisis Is Biden-Made
The Biden administration’s open-border policies and its refusal to fully enforce federal immigration laws have imposed huge costs on local communities across the country. Border states are groaning under the enormous cost of sheltering, feeding, educating, policing, and providing medical care for tens of thousands of illegal aliens.
Von Spakovsky: Partisan opportunism on the city council
Despite their claims to the contrary, the nine liberal members of the Boston City Council displayed crass, partisan opportunism by recently voting to let 16- and 17-year-olds vote in local elections.
von Spakovsky: We Shouldn’t Be Promoting Voting by Mail
A polling place under the bipartisan supervision of election officials and the observation of poll watchers has numerous advantages. It helps ensure not only that the ballots are completed by the registered voters and deposited in a locked, sealed ballot box, but also that the voters’ eligibility and identity are verified; that no voters are pressured or coerced to vote a particular way by candidates, party activists, and political guns-for-hire, who are all prohibited from being inside the polling place; and that no ballots get “lost” in the mail or not delivered on time.

We Need To Talk About What Didn’t Happen On Election Day
There are many crucial steps in our election process for the electorate to have confidence in the outcome. They didn’t happen last Tuesday.
JASON SNEAD: America’s Electoral System Is Suffering From A Credibility Crisis
Defying all predictions of a photo finish senate race, Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman won 50.3% of the vote to Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz’s 47.3%. The unexpectedly large margin helped avoid a midterm meltdown. But don’t be deceived; that margin masks major electoral system dysfunction that remains unaddressed.
SNEAD: A Disturbing Movement Is Picking Up Steam On The Left — Letting Noncitizens Vote
Voting has long been one of the privileges of American citizenship, but perhaps not for much longer. Left-wing activists are going all-in with their demands to let noncitizens vote, and Washington, D.C., just took up the charge.
Von Spakovsky: As The Dust Settles From Election Day, A Mixed Victory For Election Integrity Appears
The final results in the Nov. 8 elections heralded several important changes to state election-integrity laws across the country. While some of the initiatives, approved via ballot referendums, will improve the integrity of state elections, others are more invidious, making elections in those states more insecure.
